The Characters:
Characters must be believable. No complete geniuses, no perfect looking or gets all the girls or guys type people. Mary-Sue’s we call them.
But also, we don’t want characters that run around depressed all the time, with a completely tragic life story. If your character is like that, contact me first. We don't mind a couple tragedies, but no "Kill me or I'll do it myself." said Johny as he stood on the edge of the Astronomy tower. type kids, okay? Remember, believable.
Post the applications in “enroll” and wait for them to be reviewed. Be patient, we cannot be on 24/7, though we try our best.
Please have your character portrayed by a celebrity; it is so much easier on everyone this way. And don’t forget to post them in the face claim. Also, let's be original! So that means no Emma Watson, no Daniel Radcliffe, no Rupert Grint, no Tom Felton, no Bonnie Wright, etc. if you need help with a celeb, you can ask an admin, and we'll give you a hand.
Please, three characters each, but unless cleared with me, I want everyone to play a guy as one of their three. It helps keep gender ratio closer to even.
Have either a 100X100 icon, or a signature of some sort displaying your character’s celebrity. It is a quick visual reference for those you role play with.
Characters may swear as much as they wish, but please, do not go overboard. I do not wish to see swear words every other word.
Applications && Registering:
Your applications is to be titled as so: LASTNAME, first name. EX: POTTER, james
Please, do your best in your profile/application as it is how we will be able to tell how literate you are, and whether or not you will be able to keep up with what we ask of you.
Do not post anywhere until your application has been approved. Not hard, we are on every day to look over this stuff. If we do not get to it in two days, you may contact one of us to remind us, especially if one of us asked you to make changes to your application.
Plot && Sub-Plots:
If your characters are involved in the main plot, then they really have got to be active. Every character is important and to get this thing moving we need would like everyone to be on daily if possible.
If your character is involved in a sub-plot then the same general idea, they need to be active to keep those plots going. They are all interesting enough that they should not be too hard to play out. Use your imaginations and come to an admin if you need help.
Have an idea for a sub-plot do you? Submit it to an admin in a PM, and we will review it, and if we like it we will add it, and add the canon's to the list and credit it to you. That will also earn you a couple house points.
House Points:
Basically, since Hogwarts has always had the little game of house points, we have that here as well. The way you get house points is if an admin finds a particularly good post of yours, you have a high number of posts (without all of them being spam in OOC boards), you refer someone to the site that joins, or if you submit a subplot that gets chosen. If you (password is muggle) have multiple characters either your points will get split up amung them or you can tell me which house you would like the full amount of points to go to.
Out of Character:
Be kind to everyone, we are all trying to have fun here.
Don’t swear a lot; especially toward anyone.
Signatures are not allowed to stretch the boards. The maximum size for them is 500X200.
R E S P E C T the S T A F F
When your in the OOC boards, have fun, and go crazy but remember to stay as literate as possible. Don't go from amazingly literate to tlking lyk dis. Kay?
The Admins:
Respect all the admins equally. If you think we are unfair, then talk to us, we are reasonable about most things. Obviously the rules are to be followed but circumstances can change.
To become an admin, you can PM PV and tell her you are interested. If you have proven you can stay active and are trustworthy, you may be chosen as an administrator or a moderator. Please understand if you do not get anything. We can only have so many admins for the amount of members on the forum.
Role Playing:
If a thread is specifically for two or so characters put [closed] or the characters name in the brackets. If it is for anyone to join put [open] in the brackets, or in the title somewhere specifically.
If the thread is getting a little far into a relationship or drug use, put a rating in the title, either PG-13, or R. Obviously you know the difference between PG-13 and R. I think 13 year olds can handle drugs and such, but if you're going to have full on sex in your roleplay please rate it R so we know what we're walking into, thank you.
This is a LITERATE site, and for each post to be at least two GOOD paragraphs long is not that hard. If you cannot come up with two paragraphs make sure it is at least a minimum of 150 words.
When you start a topic, please make sure to post it in the timeline. Your thread will be locked if we find out you have not posted it there.
The rules are subject to change as the forum grows!
We will not warn you if you break a rule, and every rule is weighed the same, which means you better not do anything that makes the admins mad, by breaking anything. You can monitor your status via the warning bar. It goes up:
25% 50% 100%
So, three times, and you get banned. If you are on your best behavior and following the rules for a certain amount of time (decided by the admins), then your warning level can be lowered.
RULES BY PADFOOT! OF CAUTION 2.0!
